Isabel was born on the continent of Australia in Melbourne. The mother of Isabel is Swiss and her father Australian. Her family lived in Switzerland, Melbourne Jabiru (a small mining community within the Northern Territory), Cairns Australia as well as Jabiru in Switzerland. With their sister Nina they were in schools with children of all race and ethnicity. Isabel is currently living within Byron Bay NSW Australia. Isabel had been involved in drama since her school days. She studied at Queensland University of Technology in Queensland. She also attended the Victorian College of Arts and Perdekamp Method Perdekamp. Her auditions were not for any part until discovered via her agents in 2002. She attempted to audition in the role in Home and Away in 1988. They didn't think she was right for the part, but they were impressed by her performance, and offered Tasha the role. The actress played her first television part for three years. Her performance was lauded and she was awarded a Logie Award. Isabel was able to move her home to Los Angeles. In 2009, her breakthrough performance was Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Since then she starred in numerous US and Australian film productions, and was awarded multiple prizes.
